Timberline Team


David Mudgett

Mr. Mudgett has over 35 years of experience in the planning development, leasing and operations of commercial real estate in the US, Mexico and Asia. While located on the east coast, Mr Mudgett handled leasing for numerous regional malls owned by the Rouse Company. He also participated in the strategic planning and implementation of the commercial projects developed by Rouse in the new community of Columbia, Md.

He had responsibility for the leasing of the Arcade an historic commercial building in downtown Providence, R.I. and later was the Director of Development and Leasing, supervising the renovation and adaptive reuse for the Old Post Office located on Pennsylvania Ave in Washington, D.C.; as is the Arcade the Old Post office is on the National Historic Trust Register. In Springfield, Mass. Mr Mudgett was the team leader for the renovation of Bay State West, a 1.5m sq ft mixed use project consisting of a 15 story office building, a Marriott Hotel and a 2 level urban retail center.

After moving to the west coast, Mr Mudgett was President of the Irvine Company’s Retail Property Group. Located in Orange County, CA. with a staff of 125, this group planned, entitled, designed constructed, managed and marketed over 40 retail centers to include the 1.3m sq ft Fashion Island regional mall, to the 1.0 m sq ft Marketplace power center and the 1.0 m sq ft entertainment oriented Spectrum Center. While many centers were new ground up developments numerous projects consisted of renovating older projects or developing an adaptive reuse strategy to reposition the asset.

Later, as Retail Group President of the California based Koll Company, Mr Mudgett oversaw all forms of retail development in Texas, California and Washington. This included the well know conversion of the La Jolla Town Center located in La Jolla, CA. from a 2 department store enclosed mall into an outward facing power center. Mr Mudgett personally handled the planning and development of the 600,000 sq ft Town Center in the new community of Rancho Santa Margarita, Orange County, CA.

Additionally, Mr Mudgett has extensive experience in planned communities on the east and west coast and has supervised the numerous retail and industrial projects in Mexico and Asia while President of the Koll Company’s Asian Division.


Kevin Deighan

Kevin Deighan, a co-founder of Timberline Commercial Real Estate, has over 20 years of real estate experience in the planning, entitlement, development, leasing and operations of commercial real estate in the Western United States.

Mr. Deighan started his career with the Trammell Crow Company as a Leasing Principal, on a Team responsible for the entitlement, marketing and leasing a 1.8M square foot mixed-use project in Irvine, California. Mr. Deighan left Trammell Crow to start up the Los Angeles Retail Division for The Koll Company. Mr. Deighan later served as the Vice President in charge of the Retail Division for the State of California for the Koll Company. Working with Mr. Mudgett, he was responsible for the entitlement, leasing and development of multiple commercial projects totaling over 800,000 square feet.

Mr. Deighan founded Timberline Commercial Real Estate in 1994 with its base of operations in Vail, Colorado and Irvine, CA. Timberline has developed over 30 commercial and mixed-use projects since its inception. These projects include 3 Albertson’s anchored shopping centers, the redevelopment of 2 mixed-use projects that include office, residential and retail components, the development of the largest single residential condominium in Vail, CO, the redevelopment of a 130,000 square foot retail center and self storage facility in Albuquerque, NM, and the development of multiple retail centers throughout Colorado and California. In addition, Timberline has been involved in the development and redevelopment of multiple properties on behalf of national retailers including Smart and Final, Trader Joe’s, Carl’s Jr., Arby’s, CSK Auto, Chipotle, Burger King, Hollywood Video, Lucy’s Laundry Mart, Union Bank and Sherwin Williams.

Mr. Deighan in conjunction with IDS Real Estate has acted as the Master broker for Trader Joe’s throughout the Midwest and Western states. In this capacity, he has handled the site selection for over 200 locations on behalf of Trader Joe’s over the past 11 years.


Greg Gastineau

Greg Gastineau has over 15 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry developing multi family, industrial, office, and retail properties in the Western United States. A graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder, Mr. Gastineau began his career as a commercial real estate broker specializing in the sale of investment properties.

As the Director of Development for The O’Connor Group in Boulder, Colorado, he managed the project teams responsible for the design, construction and leasing of over 500,000 square feet of commercial real estate throughout Boulder County. Projects included the master planning of a 70-acre industrial park, project management for several build-to-suit industrial buildings, development of a mixed-use suburban office building and shopping center, as well as two multi-family residential projects.

Later, as an associate of Walnut Canyon Partners, Mr. Gastineau was responsible for coordinating the redevelopment of a one-half block parcel in downtown Boulder, CO. This urban infill project included the adaptive re-use of an existing 28,000 square foot office building, and the construction of a new 90,000 square foot, multi-story, Class A office building and underground parking structure. Other projects with Walnut Canyon Partners included the renovation, leasing, and asset management of the Historic Willard Building. This project won the American Institute of Architects Historic Preservation Award in 1996.

Mr. Gastineau joined Timberline Commercial Real Estate in 2001, and is responsible for managing the design and construction of Timberline’s many projects. In addition to overseeing Build to Suit operations for national retailers such as Walgreen’s and Carl’s Jr. Restaurants, Mr. Gastineau provides construction management services for projects such as the renovation of the mixed-use Vail Gateway Building in Vail, CO, and adaptive re-use of the former Tyrolean Restaurant in Vail into a multi-million dollar residential condominium. Mr. Gastineau was integrally involved in the work out of a distressed asset known as Chapel Square in Avon, CO on behalf of Lehman Brothers. This mixed-use office/retail/residential complex required construction defect corrections, zoning changes, tenant negotiations, and lawsuit settlements.

Mr. Gastineau continues to be integrally involved in the development of retail, office, industrial, and mixed-use projects in Colorado, Wyoming, Arizona, and California.


Tom O'Meara
Since joining the Timberline Commercial Real Estate team in 2004, Tom O'Meara has played a key role in the company's development, site acquisition, leasing and brokerage activities.

Previous to joining Timberline, O'Meara was an associate at Marcus & Millichap, where he was an investment broker specializing in retail investment properties. He graduated from the University of San Diego with a bachelor of arts degree with an emphasis in real estate.
